Can you believe Easter is upon us? Nearly a quarter of the year gone already and change is in the air. The nights are getting lighter and with the clocks changing this weekend it's going to add so much time to the day for getting outdoor things done. Over the past couple of weeks we have noticed so many different species of birds around the cottages and so much bird chatter you can tell things are happening. We have even had a couple of ducks take up residency on our lochan and lots more stop by for a look to potentially set up home here. Exciting times and we hope to welcome lots of chicks in the coming months.
We have recently stocked our lochan with rainbow trout to join the brown trout we already have in there. The lochan is now full of fish so is an anglers dream as you are very likely to get lots of action. Everyone should experience the thrill of catching a fish on the fly as it takes some beating. We get hardcore anglers who just love the sport down to 7 yr old children catching their very first fish in front of their parents which is a pretty special moment to enjoy. See if you can catch one of our brownies as these guys are no fools and if you are really lucky you may just hook our tagged fish! A special prize awaits should you manage.
We've been making lots of improvements round Crubenbeg and we are always looking to improve the guest experience. Ash & Birch has just had new patio doors installed and look great. We are also just about to have shutters fitted to the outside of Ash, Birch & Cedar which are really going to make the outside look amazing. We are pleased to say that all cottages now have dishwashers so doing the dishes is now a thing of the past and you can spend more time relaxing. We have also finished the upgrades to all of our kitchens and each cottage now has modern white units.
We are making a big effort on our vegetable garden this year for guests to enjoy. We are looking to grow much more produce and a great selection for guests to help themselves. What nicer than using completely fresh produce to go along with your meal. You can also take something from our herb garden to garnish your dish.
Our flagship 4 bedroom property Fernlea has just had rates reduced for midweek and weekend stays so there has never been a better time to book a fantastic stay in this luxurious house. Fernlea has it all for a memorable stay.
Looking forward to welcoming new and old guests in 2016.
